For Marc Mitchell, countless hours have been spent dreaming of reaching the pinnacle of NASCAR, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. In 2008, Mitchell will take his biggest step towards that dream after teaming with sponsor, Ergon, and Billy Ballew Motorsports to drive the #15 Ergon Hyprene Chevrolet in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. Mitchell is scheduled to drive 21 races in the 25-race schedule, rapidly accelerating his already fast-paced career.

Mitchell will step into the competitive NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series with plenty of experience on his side. A competitor on a national stage since 2000, Mitchell has raced regionally and nationally in series such as ASA, ARCA, and the NASCAR Nationwide Series. This season will mark Mitchell's first, well-funded efforts in the Craftsman Truck Series. He is hoping his past winning experiences will aid him in preparing him for a championship run and to take home Raybestos Rookie of The Year Honors.

Mitchell's racing resume is as impressive as any other competitor competing on the national circuits today. Mitchell started his career racing Legend stock cars and his success was immediate. Mitchell was named a division champion in 1999 at Albany (Ga.) Motor Speedway, and he had continued success in the Legends division winning over 100 feature events throughout his three-year tenure in the division on various ovals throughout the southeast. Mitchell capitalized on that success by winning the Legends Cars World Finals in 2001- beating talented drivers across the country including Sprint Cup racer Reed Sorenson.

His racing foundation solid, Mitchell moved into the heavier and more powerful asphalt late models in 2002. Again, Mitchell met success. Racing at more tracks in the southeast, Mitchell remained a winner. More importantly, he was able to diversify his racing experiences. He won over a dozen feature races at various tracks in Georgia in the late model division and his stock was rising as fellow competitors and owners were taking notice of Mitchell's natural ability.

In light of his fast-paced racing career, Mitchell remained grounded and found time to enroll at one of the most prestigious schools in the south, Auburn University. Mitchell received the education off the track to become one of the better business savvy drivers in racing today. Mitchell, however, still found time to race through his four years at Auburn. In fact, Mitchell's business skills were able to help him put the Auburn University logos and colors on an ASA late model and compete on one of NASCAR's fastest tracks, the Atlanta (Ga.) Motor Speedway. Mitchell had earned the respect of racing leaders on the track while gaining trust from those who lead in the boardroom off the track.

In 2005, Mitchell continued his climb up the racing ladder by signing with Tony Clements Racing. Continuing his relationship with Auburn University, Mitchell entered ARCA races at tracks such as the Nashville (Tenn.) Superspeedway, Kentucky Speedway and Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway proving a worthy driver capable of running up front and challenging for top finishes.

Graduating from Auburn University in 2006 with a degree in Building Science, Mitchell didn't take any time to find his next corporate sponsor to continue his career. Ergon, Inc, one of the country's most diverse companies with over 2,500 employees, is an industry leader in refining and marketing, asphalt and emulsions, transportation and terminaling services, oil and gas operations, embedded computing and real estate development. The company partnered with Mitchell to compete at the Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway, a surface that Ergon had just recently paved, in the ARCA series. It was the beginning of a relationship that stands true today.

Mitchell and Ergon used the 2007 season to establish their partnership as a growing brand in stock car racing. The duo competed in the ARCA series as well as the NASCAR Nationwide Series. The season was met with four top 10 and two top-five finishes including a runner-up finish in the season opener of the ARCA series at the famed Daytona International Speedway. Mitchell and Ergon proved their worth and desire to be successful in their first season together.

Today, Mitchell and Ergon have teamed up with one of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series most celebrated teams, Billy Ballew Motorsports. Billy Ballew Motorsports will field Mitchell in their trademark #15 Chevrolet for 21 races this season. Mitchell will compete for Raybestos Rookie of The Year honors. The foundation solid, with the help of Ergon and Billy Ballew Motorsports, Mitchell is primed for 2008 to be his breakout season.
