Built Ford Tough 250 at Kentucky Speedway First Practice Report

OVERVIEW

posted on July 18, 2008

The first practice session for tomorrow's Built Ford Tough 250 at Kentucky Speedway concluded with the Ergon Toyota in 32nd-place. Marc Mitchell reported a tight condition throughout practice, which caused his truck to push up the track through the turns. Mitchell's fastest lap around the 1.5 mile track was 32.702 seconds (165.128 mph). Final practice will begin at 6:30 EST.

"We were really tight today" said Mitchell. The splitter kept bumping the ground and making the front-end bounce. Once that happens, you lose the front of the truck and just slide. It was a little bit better towards the end of practice, but we still have some work to do. If we can get the front-end from slapping the track, we should be pretty fast."

Qualifying for the Built Ford Tough 250 begins tomorrow at 3:30 EST, with green flag action following at 7:00. Coverage will be on SPEED TV.
