Built Ford Tough 250 Final Practice Report

OVERVIEW

posted on July 18, 2008

Marc Mitchell moved up to 21st- place on the speed charts in the final practice session of the Built Ford Tough 250 at Kentucky Speedway. Mitchell's fastest lap around the 1.5-mile speedway averaged 168.624 mph, over a three mph increase and a half-second faster than his best lap of the first practice session.

"We were a lot better this practice session than we were earlier today," said Mitchell. "I figured out a thing or two about the track - I changed my lifting points and that helped my line around the track. The crew did a great job adjusting on the truck and loosened it up a good bit. We're still too tight, though. We've made a step in the right direction, but we need to loosen it up a little bit more. I'll get together with Doug (George, crew chief) and we'll get it hammered out for tomorrow."

Qualifying begins tomorrow at 3:30 EST. The green flag drops at 7:00. Be sure and watch Marc charge through the field on SPEED TV.
