O'Reilly 200 at Bristol Motor Speedway Practice Report

OVERVIEW

posted on August 20, 2008

The first practice session for tonight’s O’Reilly 200 at Bristol Motor Speedway concluded with David Stremme in 18th-place. Stremme’s fastest lap around the half-mile oval averaged 120.293 mph. The Ergon Tundra was “tight off the corners” according to Stremme and needs a few adjustments to run up front with the leaders.

“I could enter into the turn pretty good,” said Stremme. “The Ergon Tundra started pushing on exit and I couldn’t get back to the gas. We’re going to swap out a few things for the next practice session and see if we can’t loosen it up. We’re not that far off the pace. The difference between the fastest truck and the 20th-place truck is usually just a few tenths of a second. We just need to make a couple of adjustments and we can be on top of the leader board.”

Final practice begins at 12:00 est. Qualifying will follow at 4:15. The race begins at 8:00 with coverage on SPEED TV.
