O'Reilly 200 Final Practice Report

OVERVIEW

posted on August 20, 2008

David Stremme wrapped up final practice for tonight’s O’Reilly 200 in 24th-place. The Ergon Tundra’s fastest lap around the high banked half-mile was 15.967 seconds (120.173 mph). A tight handling race truck kept Stremme from climbing the leader board. Johnny Benson’s lap of 15.585 seconds was the fastest lap of the afternoon’s practice session.

“The Ergon Tundra is still a little tight,” said Stremme at the conclusion of practice. “We made some gains, and I think we're pretty good in race trim. We still need to make a few adjustments that will loosen the truck up for qualifying. Track position is so important at Bristol and we need to make sure we start close to the front. I just need to be able to hit the gas a tick quicker off the turns. If we can get the truck doing that, we’ll be set for the race.”

Qualifying for tonight’s race begins at 4:15 est. The green flag will drop at 8:00 with coverage on SPEED TV.
