O'Reilly 200 Qualifying Report

OVERVIEW

posted on August 20, 2008

David Stremme will start the O’Reilly 200 from 30th-place. The Ergon Tundra ran a qualifying lap of 15.943 seconds (120.354 mph) around the half-mile Bristol Motor Speedway. Stremme’s lap time suffered when the front valance of his No. 15 Toyota bottomed out going through the turns of the high banked oval.

“The splitter kept hitting the track and that hurt our lap time,” said Stremme after his qualifying lap. “Once the splitter hits the ground, the front-end of the truck just starts sliding. It just loses all grip and you can’t get in the gas. We’ll have some ground to make up tonight. I’ll just have to be patient and watch out for trouble. We’ll do what we can to keep our nose clean and work our way to the front.”

Race coverage begins at 8:00 on SPEED TV.
