Camping World 200 First Practice Report

OVERVIEW

posted on September 05, 2008

The No. 15 Ergon Racing team is off to a great start for this weekend’s Camping World 200 at Gateway International Raceway. Marc Mitchell piloted the Ergon Tundra to the ninth fastest lap of the event’s first practice session. His lap of 34.164 seconds (131.718 mph) around the 1.25-mile oval was the fastest among the rookie competitors.

“The Ergon Tundra was really fast from the start,” said Mitchell. “We changed some springs and switched a few shocks, but they were pretty minor adjustments. It’s felt good since we unloaded it. Having already raced at this track has been a big help, too. Hopefully we’ll just continue to pick up speed in the next session.”

Final practice for the Camping World 200 begins tonight at 7:15 est. Qualifying kicks off tomorrow at 11:05 with the green flag dropping at 2:30 to start the race. Coverage will be on SPEED TV.
