John Andretti’s fastest lap in the first practice session was 32.460 seconds around the 1.5-mile Las Vegas Motor Speedway. His speed of 166.359 mph was 3 mph off the pace of Mike Skinner, who turned the fastest lap in practice.“We were pretty loose,” said Andretti. “In the center of the corner, the truck would start to lose the rear-end and I had to lift off the throttle. We’re going to make some changes that should help us out and get us up to speed. We need to pick up about half a second to be competitive. I know we can do it.”
Final practice for the Qwik Liner 350 begins at 1:45 est. Qualifying follows at 6:30, with the race beginning at 9:30. Coverage is on SPEED TV.
