Mountain Dew 250 Qualifying Report
OVERVIEW

John Andretti paced the 2.66 mile Talladega Superspeedway in 54.031 seconds (177.232 mph), placing him 18th on the starting grid for tomorrow’s Mountain Dew 250. Andretti is confident that the Ergon Racing Tundra is much better than the qualifying time indicates.“Qualifying at Talladega isn’t as important as it is at other tracks,” said Andretti. “The draft always shuffles the field. It’s not uncommon to see someone leading the race one lap, then end up in the back the next lap. I’m sure we’ll go from the back to the front a few times throughout the race. The most important thing is that you’re up front at the end, when it counts. I know we have a good truck and have what it takes to be competitive. I’m excited about our chances.”
The green flag starts the Mountain Dew 250 tomorrow at 4:00est. Coverage is on SPEED TV.
