Texas Motor Speedway Practice Report

OVERVIEW

posted on October 30, 2008

Ryan Lawler finished practice for the Chevy Silverado 350K at Texas Motor Speedway in 6th-place. The Texas native’s fastest lap around the 1.5 mile track was 176.771mph. The Ergon Racing Tundra started practice “too tight through the corners,” according to Lawler, but improved significantly by the end of the day. Lawler posted his best lap on a mock qualifying run.

“When practice began, I couldn’t drive through the turns without sliding up the track,” said Lawler. We didn’t have much front grip at all. By the end of it, we were keeping up with some of the best trucks there. It had a much better balance when practice wrapped up. It should be a good day tomorrow. We were fast in qualifying trim and good on race runs, too.”

Qualifying begins tonight at 8:00est. The race starts tomorrow at 9:00pm est. Coverage is on SPEED TV.
