San Bernardino County 200 Practice Report
Mitchell Looking Good for Saturday's Race
OVERVIEW

FONTANA, Calif. (February 21, 2008) – Marc Mitchell has a lot to look forward to when he takes the green flag in the San Bernardino County 200 on Saturday. Mitchell’s Ergon Chevy finished the first practice session in 10th-place and completed the final practice session in 12th-place. His fastest lap around the 2-mile oval was 41.890 seconds.“The Ergon Silverado felt great today,” said Mitchell after practice sessions ended. “California (Speedway) has really long straightaways, which makes getting through the corners so important. If your truck can’t roll through the turns, and you have to get off the gas, then you won’t carry any momentum onto the longest part of the track. Fortunately, Doug (George, crew chief) has given me an awesome truck for the race and it handles really well. I’m excited about the race tomorrow.
“We spent the first session in race trim and we were pretty sporty. I could drive it deep into the corners and not have to let off the throttle a whole lot. It was a neutral, drivable truck. In qualifying trim, we were really good, too. It should be a great race on Saturday for our team.”
Qualifying for the race will begin Friday, February 22 at 4:40 EST. SPEED Channel will be covering the event.
