Texas Motor Speedway Final Practice Report

OVERVIEW

posted on June 05, 2008

Marc Mitchell rallied to finish the final practice session for tomorrow's Sam's Town 400 in 17th-place. His time of 31.258 seconds around the 1.5 mile oval moved him up six positions on the speed charts from the first practice outing.

"We worked on loosening up our truck in the final practice session," said Mitchell. "The truck seemed to get better and better throuout the day. Every adjustment we made helped it out a lot. It felt really good at the end.

"The wind was still really rough. It was blowing around 40 mph, and that make's it so hard to figure out how the truck is handling. I think that we have a pretty good feel for the truck, though, and we'll be good for the race.

"I think we'll end up with a solid top-15 starting spot for the race. The Ergon Toyota should be able to run a quick qualifying lap and get us a good starting position for the race."

Qualifying for the Sam's Town 400 begins tonight at 7:00pm EST. The green flag drops tomorrow at 9:00pm, with coverage on SPEED. Be sure and check Marc Mitchell's blog for live updates on the Ergon team during the race.
